Tumbling

Classes For All Ages & Skill Levels

Tumbling specifically refers to the practice of skills and techniques performed on the floor or trampoline. It focuses on developing strength, flexibility, and coordination through skills such as flips, handsprings, and cartwheels. Tumbling is a great choice for those who love flips but prefer not to engage in the broader apparatus-based gymnastics training. Additionally, tumbling classes are a great add-on for all of the cheerleaders working on tumbling skills.

Tumbling Class Options

Ages 4-6

This class focuses on the fundamental shapes, movements, and concepts needed for long-term tumbling success. Through age-appropriate drills and structured progressions, athletes develop body control, strength, flexibility, and confidence in a safe, supportive environment. All athletes in this age group begin here and are evaluated regularly to track their development and determine when they’re ready for the next level. This class builds the strong foundation needed for future growth in the sport.

Ages 7-14

This class is designed for athletes who are new to tumbling or still developing their foundational skills. It focuses on building proper shapes, body control, strength, flexibility, and confidence—laying the groundwork for safe and efficient progress. All athletes in this age group without a standing back handspring will begin in this class. For those with prior experience, it provides a low-pressure setting for 1–4 classes while coaches assess skill level and proper placement. Athletes are evaluated regularly to monitor progress and determine readiness for the next level.

Ages 6+

This class is designed to build on core tumbling fundamentals by introducing more advanced foundational skills that set athletes up for success at higher levels. With a focus on proper technique, control, and strength, athletes will continue progressing in a safe and structured environment.

Prerequisites:
Standing backbend kick-over, handstand hold, forward and backward rolls, and a cartwheel.

Athletes are regularly evaluated to monitor progress and determine when they’re ready to move up to the next level.

Ages 6+

This class introduces athletes to power-based tumbling, focusing on skills like back handsprings, front handsprings, and round-offs. Athletes learn how to generate momentum, improve technique, and build the strength and control needed for more dynamic passes.

Prerequisites:
Back walkover, cartwheel step-in, and blocking handstands.

Athletes are evaluated regularly to track progress and determine when they’re ready to advance to the next level.

Ages 6+

This class focuses on helping athletes connect previously learned skills into more advanced tumbling combinations. Athletes will work on progressions such as round-off back handsprings, front handspring dive rolls, and standing back handspring series—building power, control, and rhythm in their passes.

Prerequisites:
Back walkover back handspring, front handspring, cartwheel back handspring, and round-off.

Athletes are evaluated regularly to monitor progress and determine when they’re ready for the next level.

Ages 6+

This class emphasizes developing greater speed and power in tumbling connections learned in previous levels, preparing athletes for stronger standing series and tumbling skills such as tucks and front tucks. The focus is on building momentum, control, and precision to execute more advanced passes safely.

Prerequisites:
Five strong connected standing back handsprings and a powerful hurdle round-off back handspring-back handspring-back handspring series.

Athletes are regularly evaluated to track progress and determine readiness for advancement.

Ages 6+

This class teaches athletes how to generate greater speed and power using less running and fewer back handsprings, preparing them for skills like tucks and layouts. Progressions include standing tucks, front handspring to front tuck, round-off back handspring to layout, and more—helping athletes refine technique and control for advanced tumbling.

Prerequisites:
Standing three connected back handsprings to a tuck and round-off back handspring-tuck.

Athletes are regularly evaluated to monitor progress and determine when they’re ready to advance.

Ages 6+

This class focuses on teaching athletes how to perform advanced twisting and flipping skills such as single fulls, double fulls, Arabians, and more. Athletes will develop the strength, technique, and control needed to safely execute these complex tumbling elements.

Prerequisites:
Standing tuck, standing back handspring series with layout, and round-off back handspring layout.
